An inviting Lake District cottage for smaller parties, this enticing hideaway is near the shores of picturesque Coniston Water. Sleeping three guests, the two-bedroom abode nestles within a tranquil, private estate, surrounded by beautiful scenery. From here, stroll out to follow sections of the 15-mile, circular route that takes you all the way around the lake, providing magnificent views as you go. Book a cruise on the National Trust’s Victorian, steam-powered yacht gondola. Follow in the footsteps of Arthur Ransome’s Swallows and Amazons and take to the water yourselves in a rowing boat, canoe or kayak from the boating centre in Coniston, 6 miles away. Afterwards, pause in one of the village’s pubs to enjoy a meal made with fresh Cumbrian produce. Grizedale Forest, 9 miles away, is a great place to go walking, cycling or mountain biking.
Take a step up and into this welcoming, white-washed terraced cottage. Shuffle your walking boots off in the entrance hall and amble on through to the kitchen/diner to unpack any groceries you have shopped for on your latest excursion. With its dusty pink units and wooden surfaces, you will find ample space in here to store your food and prepare tasty meals for your nearest and dearest. Gather round the breakfast table here to enjoy your feast or carry your heaped plates through to the spacious lounge/diner. This immaculate space is a great place to dine, chat and relax together between trips out. Lay a fire in the wood burner during the colder months, then enjoy your meal together at the table here before curling up on the caramel leather sofa in front of the Smart TV. On fine days, open the door to the garden instead. As night falls, climb the stairs to the upper level of the cottage with care – as the ceiling is low. Here you can savour a superb night’s sleep in either the comfortable double or single bedroom, both of which have scenic views. There is also a family shower room at this level.
Take your morning coffee out into the enclosed courtyard garden on warm days. Open a bottle of wine out here on summer evenings. Guests can unload their vehicles beside the cottage and have dedicated, private parking for two cars within the estate.
