This homely three-storey cottage in a charming coastal village in the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a peaceful getaway for a family or small group of friends. The village of Dunwich offers scenic walking routes, a National Trust shingle beach (2 miles) and a museum (less than 200 miles). There is also one pub and two tearooms (less than 0.5 miles).
As you step inside the cottage, you’ll still be able to hear the crashing waves in the distance. Inside the sitting/dining room, there is a characterful wooden beam stretching across the ceiling as well as a large inglenook feature fireplace. In front of the fireplace and TV, there are two plump sofas which are ready for you to slump onto after a long day at the beach. Behind the sofas are a wooden dining table and chairs for sharing special mealtimes with your guests. The kitchen is a bright and airy space with views out onto the garden which you can admire while cooking dinner. The family bathroom is located on the ground floor, which offers a shower over the bath and WC. Climb the winding cottage-style stairs to reach the first floor of the cottage, where you’ll find two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and sea views through both sash windows. The second bedroom has a single bed. Follow the winding, cottage-style stairs to reach the second floor, where you’ll find a twin room with a cathedral-style ceiling with wooden beams.
Outside, there’s a sheltered garden with a patio area where you can sit on the outdoor table and chairs and enjoy a meal alfresco. Climb three stone steps to reach the grassy with an array of plants along the side of the path which leads to the end of the garden.
