Stayed here over the Goth weekend and wouldnt stay again. Its basic, a place to sleep but not much else. Lack of basic amenities, no toilet paper, no working heating, no WiFi, toilet flush takes many tries to work, hot tap barely worked. And its a fair walk to the co-op to get the basic necessities that are provided by most other cottages. OtherRead more people in our party stayed in a bigger cottage near the abbey which was cheaper and they provided a welcome basket containing basics like teabags, milk etc. so Id look elsewhere if youre staying in Whitby. Place was also not very clean. Black mould in the shower, dirty mirrors and hair all over the floors. Knelt down in the bedroom while unpacking and was covered in what I assume was dog hair. Also if you bring a pet, check under the wardrobe in the bedroom as theres loads of dog toys stuck under there too. Located on a noisy street which cant be helped but expect to be woken up by the boat yard opposite at 6am and you will hear every person who walks past through the night as the windows are single glazed. Minus the mould the shower is good though, very powerful. Overall, for the price theres a lot better places to stay in Whitby so I would look elsewhere. Hide

As usual we enjoyed our holiday at Scoresby House, the position is great but it is looking a little tired and needs a new mattress! Traffic noise and noise from the boatyard can be a problem but otherwise everything is good.

Terrible unclean needs updating can't open windows if you do you have to wedge with something. When windows are open the noise from the shipping yard you are directly across from is unbearable. Had a lovely stay, there was a dirty tea cloth of the radiator when we arrived. The walls could do with a freshen up as some dirt and scuffs but we had a lovely stay, the facilities were great and location was perfect.
