Sitting within North Devon’s rural countryside, open up the door to Pusehill Cottage, to discover a serene stone barn conversion cottage. Set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, not only will you find rolling hills on your doorstep, you’re only 1 mile from the sandy beach of local seaside resort, Westward Ho! Here, you can explore the many independent cafes and shops before indulging in activities including go-karting and mini-golf before setting yourself up for one of the many hikes on offer. Starting from one end of the resort, uncover the grassy coastal plain of Northam Burrows Country Park and head over to the South West Coast Path, which leads into the cobbled streets of Clovelly village. This world-famous fishing village houses donkeys and sledges instead of vehicles and is the ideal place to indulge in a tearoom or two. Explore more winding lanes as you make your way to the picturesque fishing village of Appledore, where you can uncover an abundance of maritime history and marvel at the rows of pastel-coloured houses. Just a few miles away, you’ll find the historic harbour town of Bideford (3 miles) - the perfect place to stock up on essentials as you soak up views of the River Torridge. Further afield, you’ll find family fun at The BIG Sheep amusement farm park, The Milky Way adventure park and the delightful gardens at RHS Rosemoor.
After a day spent enjoying a hike or other coastal activities, the relaxing walls of this stone cottage make a welcome retreat. Cosy up by the coal-effect electric fire in the living room with a drink and a good book, then whip up a hearty family dinner in the kitchen. After enjoying a home cooked meal at the welcoming kitchen table, head upstairs to find the bedrooms. There is one double bedroom with charming views, and second bedroom with single bed. There is also a shower room with WC.
A stable door from the living room leads out to the courtyard garden. On warm evenings, you can light the BBQ and dine alfresco using the garden furniture on the patio. Guests also have shared use of the adjacent walled garden.
