Property code: OC-NIG

Nestled in the heart of the coastal town of Aldeburgh, this is the perfect location for a classical seaside holiday. The town has inspired many artists and poets and is home to the famous Aldeburgh Music Festival, held annually in June and a wonderful day out if you are here during that period. The harbour is brimming with colourful boats and is a postcard-perfect sight. On an afternoon stroll, you can purchase freshly caught fish from fishermen who still sell from picturesque huts on the shingle beach. The high street is dominated by stunning Georgian buildings, which are filled with independent shops, pretty cafes, and trendy restaurants. Boating is still popular in the area, and you can book a boat trip on the nearby Alde estuary; this activity is particularly pleasant in the summer.

A highlight of this property is the contemporary open-plan kitchen/living/dining room, which boasts plenty of large windows which give a wonderfully bright atmosphere. The wood burner is an excellent addition to this space, and snuggling up near the fire is the perfect way to spend an evening during the colder months. A utility room is also on the ground floor, making the ideal space to store dirty or wet clothing from your days of exploring. Finishing the ground floor is a bathroom with a walk-in shower. On the first floor, find two spacious double bedrooms, one of which has a modern en-suite shower room and a magnificent private balcony which boasts spectacular views of the marshes, River Alde, and Orford Castle. The final bedroom has bunk beds which are perfect for children. Completing the first floor is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The fully enclosed landscaped garden has wonderful views and is designed to give the feel of complete seclusion. In this peaceful space, you will find a decked area ideal for barbecues in the summer. The garden is completed with a large lawned area and a gate at the end, with direct access onto a footpath leading to the Aldeburgh marshes. Additionally, there is a garage which is perfect for bike storage.

A lovely house in a brilliant location. A stones throw from the beach, pub and shops. Very secure garden for our dog. Spacious and nicely decorated living area, and the wood burner was a lovely accessory. Parking potentially an issue at busier times, but we managed to park 3 cars on the road throughout the stay. Would definitely come back agaRead morein. Hide

the house was lovely - we wouldn't hesitate to book again or recommend to friends/family. only downside was a lumpy/uncomfortable undersheet in master bedroom. otherwise it was perfect for us (family of two adults, two kids, one dog) - house is spacious but cosy, has all the equipment required, clean, dog friendly open plan arrangement, great showeRead morers, fantastic location close (but not too close) to high st and wonderful garden with extensive decking and access to marsh paths at back. would have been good to know in advance of the building work in the empty plot opposite the house (digging foundations for new house) which caused some disruption to parking in street and some noise - but the builders were very friendly, communicative and considerate, so it didn't detract from our week there. the building work may be more disruptive/loud in later stages of construction though.
