This charming redbrick terraced cottage is set within the historical Suffolk town of Lavenham. The town is thought to be the best-preserved medieval settlement in England and has many beautifully maintained buildings to admire. Directly opposite the cottage is a large timber-framed building that fans might recognise from Harry Potter. The building was the setting for ‘Godric’s Hollow’ in the ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows’ film. Lavenham is set amidst glorious countryside often referred to as ‘Constable Country’ after the famous painter, and there are many beautiful footpaths and trails to follow nearby. In the town itself, there are a good variety of interesting shops to browse and plenty of welcoming cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs. The busier market town of Bury St Edmunds is 12 miles away with its fine cathedral and attractive town centre.
The cottage is compact but offers pleasant living spaces and a cute garden. The front door opens directly into the cosy living room with comfortable sofas and a TV for evenings in. The kitchen/diner has all you need to cook delicious meals along with a wooden dining table. Large windows let in plenty of light and offer views of the garden along with back door access. Upstairs, guests will find two bedrooms and an ample family bathroom featuring a shower over a bath and a WC. The master bedroom is a spacious double and there is a single room at the back of the cottage with garden views.
Outside, there is a lovely private and sheltered garden and two patio areas. The first seating area is directly outside the kitchen and is set up with bench seating and a small table. This is just the place to enjoy your morning coffee and admire the plants all around you. From there, a winding path leads through mature shrubs and trellis archways to a further seating area. This spot is perfect for al fresco dining in the sunshine and has a small table and chairs for four. The garden is fully enclosed with tall hedges and trees.
