This characterful two-storey property, hidden away in the picturesque village of Laxfield, is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing getaway from which guests can explore the Suffolk countryside. The village boasts a medieval Guildhall with a museum and shop as well as a children’s play area. A short drive away is the market town of Framlingham (7.5 miles) with its historic 12th-century castle; the coastal resort of Southwold (17.5 miles) with its pier, independent shops, beach and lighthouse, and Walberswick (17.5 miles) with its beautiful beach. If you fancy a bit of exercise, Stradbroke is just over 4 miles away and has a swimming pool, gym and tennis courts.

This is a traditional cottage with a welcoming feel with its exposed beams, some of which date back around five hundred years, tiled floors and an attention to detail that makes it distinctly homely. As you enter the sitting room, the brick fireplace and wood burner draw the eye, and with rugs, comfortable sofas and a TV, this is a space in which you can relax. The kitchen is neat and equipped with everything you need, and the dining area has a long table where you can sit together comfortably. Upstairs there are three characterful rooms – an endearing king-size bedroom, a twin bedroom with pretty iron bedsteads and exposed brickwork as well as a coastal-themed bathroom.

At the front and rear are pretty lawned gardens with furniture and views across the fields - a perfect place to enjoy sunny days.

Hidden gem of a lovely cottage in a quiet, friendly village. There is a choice of 3 gardens to sit and enjoy a variety of visiting birds & squirrels. 2 great pubs on the doorstep for drinks & food and sometimes live music and a local museum opposite to visit. There's a walking route of a few hours around the village to do. Easy access for travellRead moreing around Suffolk and Norfolk by car from the cottage. We felt like locals during our 2 week stay as everyone made us feel very welcome. We didn't want to leave as it was such a comfy home from home and the glorious Suffolk sunshine certainly helped! We're so glad we found it and we'd love to return. Hide

The cottage is nice and secluded but easy to access shop and pubs, a delightful quirky cottage with interesting objects and books, lovely garden, stream and outlook. Its cosy with more than ample wood for the wood burner and heating through the cottage, a very welcoming atmosphere. We loved being there and had a very happy week.
