Book a break in this quaint two-bedroom cottage with contemporary decor and an enchanting south-facing tiered garden. You’ll be less than half a mile from the railway station, a theatre, a mill museum, the riverside and beautiful historic buildings. Sutton Hoo and the Sandlings, a rare and wildlife-rich heathland which stretches to Bawdsey on Suffolk's heritage coast, begins under a mile away. The historic town of Orford is 12 miles away; Bawdsey with its quay and watersports opportunities is 11 miles distant, Snape with its world-renowned concert hall is 13 miles away, and the Tudor port town of Aldeburgh lies 20 miles east.
Coast meets country style inside the cottage, with a decorative palette of creams and whites. The accommodation is presented over two floors. The lounge/dining room has plush seating arranged around a coal effect gas fire housed in a Victorian fireplace, and a wooden refectory style table with six chairs and a writing desk. The bright, white kitchen features a tongue and groove ceiling, and provides direct access to the garden via a stable door. A separate utility room contains laundry facilities as well as a WC. Upstairs, there is a super king-size bedroom with views over the church and an ornamental fireplace, and a cosy twin bedroom. The fresh and light-filled family bathroom includes an original cast iron bath and linen cupboard.
Step outside of the kitchen and the stylish surroundings continues into the south-facing terraced garden. Made very private, it’s planted with roses, weeping pear, apple trees and Sissinghurst theme borders. Deck chairs, benches, garden furniture and a parasol are provided for al fresco dining or drinks, with a rear gate that’s handy for bikes and access to the garden shed. At the front, is a further gated garden.
