On a 60-acre traditional sheep and cow farm, this spacious barn conversion surrounded by stunning countryside is just 0.5 miles from the village of Bratton Fleming with its general stores, pubs and a green with a children’s playground. Visit Barnstaple (7 miles), the busy ‘capital’ of North Devon, where you can sample the wares of local food producers at the pannier market, explore the many independent shops or stop for an al fresco coffee while being entertained by performers and musicians. It also has a family entertainment complex called Let’s Go and a lovely 1930s cinema with four screens showing the latest releases.
The spacious living room has a beautiful wide chimney with wooden lintel and a wood burner, plenty of comfortable seating, exposed stonework and a beamed ceiling. From the kitchen/diner, stairs lead up to the first floor where the spacious double bedroom has an apex ceiling and crossbeams. One of the twin rooms also has these features while the second twin has sloping ceilings and a Velux window offering delightful country views. The family bathroom is also on this floor.
Outside the barn, there is a shared lawn garden with benches and picnic tables for dining alfresco. Guests have permission to use the neighbouring farmland for walks.
