An enchanting, 18th-century cottage, in the centre of Dunwich, on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, this holiday home is perfect for a group booking. Sleeping eight guests, and offering dog-friendly accommodation, the four-bedroom retreat is ideal for anyone wishing to be right on the coast. From here, it is a 350-metre stroll down to the beautiful, sandy beach, where you can swim and enjoy coastal walks. Also stroll through Dunwich Heath, which surrounds the village and has lots of scenic footpaths to follow. There is a pub in Dunwich for dining out and a museum where you can learn more about this coastal location, where a bustling medieval port once stood until it was submerged by the sea during a storm.
Open the front door and make your way inside to find three-storey accommodation with an abundance or original charm and character. The large, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, where you can stoke up the wood burner during the autumn and winter months, is at ground-floor level. Here you will find everything you need for catering for your party using your own ingredients plus a table to gather round at mealtimes. There are also comfortable chairs to relax in by the cosy glow of the wood burner. Also downstairs, are two connecting twin bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room. The large lounge, with its beautiful timber beams, is up on the first floor of the cottage. Here there is more comfortable seating, plus a TV and DVD player for movie nights. There is also a double bedroom at this level, together with a family bathroom. Another double bedroom is up on the second floor.
The courtyard garden at the cottage offers generous space for members of your party to sit outside, dine together and enjoy the sea air.
