An attractive, 18th-century cottage, this delightful property is set close to the estuary, beach and myriad of shops, restaurants and cafes in Whitby. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom holiday home offers characterful accommodation across four beautiful storeys. Step out from here to stroll through the vibrant lanes and alleyways or to wander beside the River Esk. Pack your swimming costumes and towels and walk just 150 metres down to the town’s main sandy beach, which is backed by colourful huts and is perfect for paddling and swimming. Striking Whitby Abbey, set on a dramatic headland above the town, is 0.5 miles from the cottage. Challenge yourselves to climb the 199 steps up to it and then enjoy the magnificent views.

Make your way into the charming cottage to discover you have a kitchen/diner at ground-floor level, as well as a shower room. The inviting, beamed lounge is set on the first floor of the cottage and is a cosy place to settle down in front of the TV and flame-effect electric fire. Venture up a level to find a cosy twin bedroom, where you can wake up to views out over the harbour and to the abbey. A lovely double bedroom, with sloped ceilings, windows on three sides and views out towards the famous abbey, the harbour and the sea is on the third floor of the cottage.

There is no outside space with this holiday home, but it is well-located for the beach and Pannett Park is just 0.5 miles away.

Clean , comfortable and interesting property. 2 Adults and 2 children , great location and parking permit was really appreciated. I would only suggest anybody with mobility negotiation to understand layout of property, being on 4 floors and bathroom on bottom floor. A lovely property and caring owners. Happy to stay at this property again.

We loved our stay at Pier Lane. It was a lovely quirky cosy cottage. Great location. The decor was beautiful. Kitchen fully equipped with everything you need. We will definitely be back.

Excellent location and for a couple of days great. A bit of an issue with being woken up by birds on the roof very early but not sure what anyone could do about that. They seem to be nesting up there.

It was as advertised but some things too basic or could be replaced such as sofa/chair. Overall a reasonable price, clean and customer service was good. We would use again.

Overall property was good and very clean and well equipped. My only criticism was the way front door opened....you had to step into the bathroom or up first stair in order to get round the door to close or open it which was not easy with a dog. Each of us had to either stand in bathroom doorway or on stair to follow previous person out. Property located behind fishmongers very smelly no outside space for dogs. Very busy alley with noisy revellers.Dark inside very little natural light, rug in lounge had not been hoovered full of white dog hairs furnishings stained and very uncomfortable. Frying pans need to be changed as Teflon coating covered in scratches therefore highly toxic,Read more no toaster had to use oven toaster which took ages to warm. We go to Whitby 3-4 times a year but are finding the accommodation prices going up and up and think they are going to price themselves out of the market We are considering just visiting for the day thanks
