A bright, welcoming Yorkshire cottage, this homely retreat in the middle of Skipton is well positioned for shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as trips to beauty spots and attractions. Sleeping three guests, this holiday home is within 150 metres of a spectrum of independent shops and eateries. Visit the 12th-century fortress castle while you are here and take a gentle canal cruise through scenic countryside. Venture into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, which begins just 1.5 miles from the property. Follow footpaths and trails through stunning landscapes. Plan an excursion to Malham, 10.5 miles away, with its beautiful tarn and its huge, curved limestone cove. Gordale Scar, a dramatic limestone ravine, 11.5 miles away, is also worth seeing.
Open the front door and make yourselves immediately at home in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has underfloor heating and a coal-effect gas fire. Choose a film on the TV or DVD or listen to music, opening the French doors on to the courtyard garden on fine days. The kitchen space here is well-equipped so you can prepare meals at home if you choose to eat in. Set the table either inside or out, depending on the weather, or dine at the breakfast bar. There is also a WC at ground-floor level. Climb the stairs when you are ready to turn in for the night to discover a double bedroom and a single on the first floor. The family shower room is also here.
Bask in the sunshine out in the private courtyard garden, with its gorgeous stone walls and patio furniture. Have a cup of tea or a meal out here too during the spring and summer months.
