This is a real gem of a holiday retreat set in enchanting, verdant gardens close to the riverside village of Lerryn, offering the best of all worlds. Whilst set in peaceful country surroundings, it is also just 2 miles from the small town of Lostwithiel, with its independent shops and cafes, pubs and restaurants. Sleeping five guests, the three-bedroom home offers single-storey accommodation and could be perfect for a family seeking exceptional space and proximity to the coast, as well as the countryside. Plan trips down to the National Trust’s picturesque Lantic Bay, 6.5 miles away, for example, where you can paddle and swim; visit impressive Restormel Castle, 4 miles from the cottage and charming Polruan, 5.5 miles away, with its ancient harbour and the beautiful Readymoney Cove. You can also catch a ferry from Polruan over to Fowey or hop on the train from Lostwithiel and take a day trip to explore. St Ives, Truro or Penzance.
Entering the cottage, you’ll find a charming farmhouse-style kitchen with Aga and central dining table to enjoy meals together. There is also a small but cosy lounge with a wood burner where you can snuggle up and watch your favourite film. There is also a handy downstairs WC housing the washing machine. The three bedrooms, a double, twin and single, are all tastefully decorated and all enjoy lovely views from the windows. A good-sized bathroom with rainfall shower over the bath completes the property’s interior.
But the real star of this property is the beautiful, leafy garden which has plenty of space to play, dine and relax. Surrounded by trees and shrubbery, with the peaceful countryside beyond, this is the perfect spot for when the sun is shining. Cook on the BBQ, enjoy meals at the picnic table and let the children play games on the grass.
