Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is plenty of scenic countryside to explore nearby: a walk by the River Deben, stopping at the boatyard to see the boats, is a highlight. Browse the village’s shops and indulge in romantic or family meals at the local restaurants. Fancy a day trip? Visit the market town of Woodbridge (7.5 miles) for art galleries, antiques shops and a town museum; or seaside Felixstowe (11 miles) with its 4-mile sand and shingle beach, promenade and Seafront Gardens.

You’ll notice the charm of this cottage as soon as you approach. Admire the traditional ceiling beams in the cosy, open-plan living space where there’s a rustic kitchen with wall tiles, wooden accents and everything you need for preparing family meals, as well as a dining area with a round, four-seater table. The sitting room area is a comfortable space with a sofa, armchairs, a wide window and a TV with Sky and DVD player. A well equipped and nice little accommodation in a quiet location. 15 minute walk down to the Maybush overlooking the picturesque Deben. Lovely walks in the area in green countryside. A Lidl and rather crazy Tesco Extra a few miles up the road

Overall comfy, and equipped, though aspects of layout were a little quirky, and some fixtures and fittings were outdated. Quiet, convenient location, with safe parking and bike storage, good for evening walk to estuary and Maybush pub.

There is an excellent pub in the village by the river Deben. The large bedroom at the rear looks out onto fields whilst the kitchen, dining and lounge are one area at the front of theRead more house. The Little Oakland Cottage is in a lovely quiet setting, it is well equipped and very clean. We had a restful and really enjoyable stay. The owner was very helpful and we if we want to stay in that area again, we would re-book that same property.
