This attractive terraced cottage is ideal for a small family or group of friends to enjoy a coastal break together. Sitting pretty right in the centre of Southwold, the house is close to the beach and all of the town’s amenities. This is a traditional seaside town with a long sandy beach backed by brightly painted beach huts, a pier with all sorts of entertainment and an historic listed lighthouse. It’s an old market town too and there are many charming streets and greens to stroll through, as well as a good range of shops, cafes and restaurants. Southwold’s other claim to fame is that it was home to the famous writer George Orwell for some 20 years. The town lies within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so there are lots of lovely walks to enjoy in the area.
The cottage is cheerful and welcoming with a cosy living room that features an attractive ornamental fireplace with a large mirror over it, adding depth to the room. A compact kitchen provides a fun place to dine at the wooden table, and there’s a lovely display cupboard which is home to a range of pretty crockery. The back door opens from the kitchen/diner to the courtyard garden. This a private and tranquil space to spend an evening al fresco dining. The bathroom boasts seaside touches and has a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail. Up a cottage-style flight of stairs, guests will find a fresh and airy double bedroom, with a charming coastal flavour and its own sink. A twin bedroom with wooden furniture and neutral tones completes this lovely holiday retreat.
Outside the sheltered courtyard is set up with a table and chairs. It is fully fenced in and gets the sun for much of the day. This is a nice spot to enjoy your morning coffee with the paper or for afternoon drinks in the open air.
