Perched next to the River Deben, Woodbridge has a fascinating military history, a pretty harbour, lots of interesting independent shops, a selection of superb places to eat, art galleries, antique shops, museums, a cinema/theatre, and an indoor swimming pool. Beyond the town National Trust Sutton Hoo, a 255-acre estate with excellent views of the river and home to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time, is worth visiting just 2.5 miles away. Walk one of the beautiful trails, including the UFO trail, starting at Rendlesham Forest Centre (7.5 miles away), discover the Tide Mill, one of only a few mills in the world that still produces flour, a 300 metre walk from the cottage, or visit the fascinating war time control tower and Nissen huts at Parham Airfield Museum, 10 miles away.
The cottage has a cosy sitting room with plenty of seating space and a decorative pretty brick fireplace, and a bright, modern kitchen/diner with everything you could need to cook up a delicious meal. Up the steep, narrow staircase is the attractive bedroom, with a king-size bed, wooden floors, and a decorative fireplace, and a family bathroom with a large bath for a good soak.
