Set on the owners’ farm, just 1.5 miles north of Porthmadog, this sweet rural retreat makes the perfect base for friends and families to explore Cardigan Bay and North Wales. There’s a lovely circular walk from the cottage through the village of Tremadog (0.5 miles) to the beach at Borth-y-gest (2.5 miles), and back through the vibrant town of Porthmadog. A superb family day out is waiting at the mysterious Italianate style village of Portmeirion (5 miles). Visit castles at Criccieth (5 miles), Harlech (10 miles) and Caernarfon (19 miles), and jump on the Welsh Highland Railway’s steam trains in Porthmadog.
Inside you’ll find a welcoming interior, with beautiful views over the farm. The large sitting room has old wooden beams and a comfortable three-piece suite, and there’s a separate, spacious kitchen/diner to prepare sumptuous feasts from fresh local produce. Stairs lead up from the kitchen to the two first floor bedrooms, both of which offer plenty of storage space, and the family bathroom. The first being a double with views over the farm to the countryside beyond; the second has a double and a single bed. Wash away sand in the first floor bathroom’s corner bath or shower, before convivial evenings outside.
Enjoy bright farm-egg breakfasts and al fresco meals on the front patio. The cottage is surrounded by a working farm, with all the sights, sounds and smells that this brings; a delight for all guests to encounter.
