If you’re eager to get away from it all then this is a place for you. The nearest built-up area is Trawsfynydd, a pretty village that’s 2 miles away. From here you can embark on fishing excursions on the Llyn Trawsfynydd (1 mile), simply buy a permit from the lakeside café. Jump on your mountain bike to explore the area on two wheels, perhaps embracing the expert tracks at Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park (6.5 miles) or Antur Stiniog (13 miles). Alternatively, if you prefer to stick to hiking routes, the mountain peaks of Snowdon, Aran Fawddwy and Y Lliwedd are all within 25 miles.

Meals can be prepared, served up and cleared away in the kitchen/diner (complete with that all-important dishwasher), and you can use your handy utility space as additional storage for any outdoor equipment. When it’s time for bed, ascend the single staircase to find three first-floor bedrooms. Each room is equally attractive with sturdy furniture, soft linens and storage solutions. Rooms one and two feature double beds whilst the third bedroom is equipped with full-size bunk beds. Each bedroom is served by a shared family bathroom. A games room with seating and a decorative fireplace also boasts a pool table and table tennis to ensure plenty of competitive fun. Really nice cottage. Feels really cut off which is what we wanted. Unwind in the Hot-tub after long days hiking in the local area with great views of the surrounding hills with just the sheep for company. The table-tennis and Pool table we're a bonus. Would highly recommend.
