In an elevated position at the end of a private, no-through lane, and with far-reaching views of the surrounding hills and woodlands, the farmhouse is ideal for families or groups of friends. It stands above the village of Llangurig, 0.3 miles away, which has a shop and pubs and is on a national cycling route. From this peaceful, rural location, great places to visit include the red kite feeding centre at Gigrin Farm in Rhayader, 10 miles away, Clywedog Sailing Club for a range of watersports, 11 miles, and the spectacular waterfalls at Devil’s Bridge Falls, 15 miles.
Inside the farmhouse there is plenty of choice of rooms in which to enjoy solitude or socialise. The lounge has a range of sofas and chairs, gathered around a wood burner that is set on a slate hearth against a striking exposed-stone wall. For an additional seating area, or a further bedroom, the snug has a sofa bed and a storage cupboard for clothes and bedding, and there is also a conservatory with a suite of furniture and lovely views over the garden, valley and hills. The dining room is another very welcoming space, with exposed beams and a slate floor, an ornamental AGA within an inglenook fireplace, a traditional Welsh dresser and reclining chairs, as well as an extending dining table. On this floor is also a lovely king-size bedroom and a separate shower room with WC. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms: a family room with a double and a single bed, and a double bedroom, as well as a smart family bathroom.
Surrounded by paddocks and woodlands, the house has some adjacent outbuildings and attached barns which are used by the owner (who lives on site) for keeping and breeding horses. There are landscaped gardens and a patio area to the front with a dining table, chairs and parasol. There is a raised patio to the side, with a luxury hot tub with cover, mood lighting and more seating.
