Escape to this delightful cottage located down a private driveway close to two beautiful Cornish beach towns. It's the ideal country retreat for friends or families who want a tranquil base to explore this beautiful area. Sat next to the owners’ residence, the cottage is less than 3 miles from Porthtowan and less than 5 miles from Portreath, two wonderful coastal towns with gorgeous beaches and plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. The two towns are connected by the South West Coast Path, which will also take you, through stunning coastal scenery, to St Agnes (6.5 miles), a village known for its rambling stone cottages, rugged beauty and appeal as an artists’ retreat.

When you enter this picturesque cottage, you’ll be immediately struck by the impressive porch with its old wood and exposed brick. Continue through to find a comfortable lounge with two cosy sofas, an electric fire and views of the garden. The farmhouse kitchen with its beamed wooden ceiling is a lovely room you’ll enjoy spending time in, whether cooking at the large stove or dining at the round table. Also on the ground floor is the bathroom and king-size bedroom, a welcoming room furnished with nautical touches and a wooden rocking chair. Climb the stairs to the first floor, entirely taken up by a large and characterful loft bedroom. This room has an A-frame ceiling crossed by dark wooden beams and a quirky collection of mismatched and hand-painted furniture. The two double beds have their own space at either end of the room, separated by the wooden staircase and a curtain.

Outside you’ll find a pretty, rambling garden with lawns, flowerbeds, arched trellis and hedges. The BBQ and seating area with parasol might entice you to take all your meals outside.

The cottage is supremely cute, extremely well equipped and a very comfortable stay. Jasmine and Alan are lovely hosts and their little dachshund Lottie is a total cutie. We arrived late on a Saturday night to scones, jam and cream and everything we could ever wish for in the kitchen (tea, coffee, milk, decaf). The beds were extremely comfortable anRead mored the towels white and fluffy. We had our own private garden in which I enjoyed a few cups of morning tea before the kids woke up. The cottage in on the coast-to-coast trail and while we didn't have our bikes, I definitely enjoyed a couple of runs. I also took the kids blackberry picking and we made crumble at the cottage. A couple of little hidden things about Redruth - it is home to Rodda's clotted cream factory. It has Prima Bakes which is a massive pasty distributor for the area (has an on-site shop where you can buy frozen and cooked pastries and cakes) and on a more local level, along the coast-to-coast trail is a home that sells local Tramway honey which is delicious. Internet is OK for messaging, sharing photos and short family video chats but if you plan to work (due to unavoidable circumstances), you'll need to go out to Fibrehub nearby - 20/day for a hot-desk.
