Spend quality time together in pretty Chapel Stile; this cottage has everything needed for family members of all ages to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Explore nearby towns and villages such as Grasmere (4 miles) with its quaint shops and Wordsworth Museum, Bowness-on-Windermere (10 miles) home to The World of Beatrix Potter, Kendal (18 miles) for upmarket boutiques and galleries, Newby Bridge (16 miles) where there’s an aquarium, and Sizergh (22 miles) where you can see a National Trust castle and find your way out of the maze. Golfers can book a round at the local course in Windermere (12 miles), or play a mini version with the kids at a Pitch and Putt in Ambleside (5 miles).
The entrance into the cottage is to the left of the main house when accessed from the front, or down the right-hand side of the building if approached from the private parking area. A porch space for muddy boots and coats leads into the hallway on the ground floor. Off the hallway are two bedrooms; a king-size room, and a twin with beds 10cm longer than standard. Both have en-suite shower rooms, plus there’s another stylish, separate shower room for everyone to use too. From the hallway, stairs lead up to the carpeted open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room with charming units, comfortable seating and a table seating six – here you can relax, play board games together and tuck into a home-cooked meal. The lovely family bathroom is also on this floor. On the top floor, you’ll find a further twin bedroom and a storage cupboard housing the freezer, ironing board/iron and vacuum.
Enclosed by pretty hedges and with well-established plants and trees and a grassed area for games, the garden is a treat for families. Furniture for dining can be found on the patio, so you’re all set up for al fresco meals together.
