This carbon-neutral cottage is set in a gorgeous rural location in the hills, within a 700-acre working sheep farm and is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle with friends or family. There are plenty of walking trails to explore right from the doorstep which could easily fill a whole week of adventure. A place that’s sure to have something for all the family is the trail centre at Coed Y Brenin Forest Park (2 miles), where there is a children’s play area, discovery trails, mountain biking trails, orienteering courses and more. For a day trip out, the nearest town is Dolgellau (14 miles) where a small selection of shops and eateries can be found. Bala Lake (25 miles) is a great spot to try your hand at water sports such as kayaking and paddleboarding, or to hire a boat.
Retaining many of its original features, this cottage is full of charm, starting with the living room and its beautiful, beamed ceiling and wood burner set into a traditional inglenook fireplace. This room offers plenty of entertainment, from the TV to films, books and games which can be found in the cupboards, as well as comfortable leather seating. The conservatory is a great place to sit back with a good book or to admire the countryside views, come rain or shine. For mealtimes, the kitchen/diner has ample space with a wooden dining table and chairs. All three bedrooms sit on the first floor, with a double room equipped with a TV and en-suite shower room being the largest. There is a further double room, with plenty of storage, and a twin which is great for kids. These two rooms are served by a tiled family bathroom with a handheld shower attachment to rinse off after a day of adventures.
The garden area boasts panoramic views of the surrounding hills, which can be enjoyed sitting on the picnic table placed on the patio. There’s also a brick BBQ for any evenings where dining alfresco is on the cards.
