Built in 1870, this imaginatively updated property makes a wonderful holiday getaway for up to five guests exploring a beautiful part of the North Yorkshire countryside. Nestling in a quiet valley, amidst idyllic countryside the cottage is just 1 mile from the picturesque market town of Pateley Bridge which has a great choice of fine restaurants, quaint tearooms and independent shops, including the oldest sweetshop in England. Nearby is the pretty spa town of Harrogate (16 miles) which is known for its fantastic mix of cafes, art galleries, artisan shops and attractions including the Turkish Baths, RHS Garden Harlow Carr and the Royal Pump Room. Other local attractions include Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey, Parcevall Hall Gardens and Ripley Castle (all within 10 miles).

On entering this welcoming cottage, the pretty lounge/diner provides a lovely space for everyone to get together at the end of a wonderful day. With plenty of seating, the airy lounge is perfect for snuggling up to chat about the day, catch up with a good book or watch a movie. The open plan dining area has ample space to sit around and enjoy all your favourite family meals which you can prepare in the thoughtfully designed kitchen. At the end of the day, there are three light and cosy bedrooms, all tastefully decorated in soothing shades, ensuring you have a relaxing night. The first is a double room with a handy en-suite shower room. The second bedroom is a lovely twin room, and the final one is a single room. The accommodation is rounded off with a stylish bathroom, perfect for enjoying a relaxing soak or a refreshing shower.

Heading outside, the walled south-facing garden makes a delightful private spot to sit in the sun and enjoy a spot of breakfast before venturing out to explore the stunning surrounding countryside of this beautiful part of North Yorkshire.

Our stay at Kingfisher Cottage was very enjoyable. Everything was very conducive to a relaxing time. The lady who runs the property was extremely helpful and very personable. We would not hesitate to use this property again on a future visit to Yorkshire.

Excellent location, beautifully clean and well equipped. Could use a boot jack for muddy boots at the front door and filter papers for the coffee machine as none available locally.
