This quaint two-bedroomed cottage is situated in a corner between two similar cottages and is suitable for a small family or small group of friends. It is just a couple of minutes' walk from the quayside with its small range of pubs, shops and galleries. A seasonal ferry takes passengers across the estuary to the pretty little village of Instow, with its sheltered stretch of sandy beach and a further choice of family-friendly facilities. Historically celebrated for its artists and craftspeople, the village boasts an arts festival, and the Appledore Crafts Company, an artist’s co-operative, showcases a broad range of arts and crafts from ceramics and photography to jewellery and painting. There are pleasant walks along the sunny, south-facing quay and local family attractions including The BIG Sheep (4.5 miles), The Milky Way Adventure Park (12 miles) and RHS Garden Rosemoor (12 miles) are all just a short drive away.
This quaint cottage’s interiors have been designed to make the most of the amazing views over the estuary by putting the living accommodation upstairs. Access to the front door is on foot due to the maze of narrow cobbled footpaths that give Appledore its charm. Stairs from the hallway lead up to the light and airy open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner. A large bay window at the front of the room has French doors which open up onto a Juliet balcony where you can sit and take in the fabulous estuary view. The kitchen area is spacious with everything you can think of to rustle up a delicious holiday meal, whilst the living and dining area is cosy with comfortable seating for relaxing. A small cloakroom with a WC completes the accommodation on the first floor. Two bedrooms and a small bathroom are on the ground floor. The double bedroom enjoys estuary views and the smaller bunk room has 3’ bunks. The bottom bunk may suit one adult. The top bunk is very high so may not be suitable for smaller children or adults. Note: Suitable for 3 Adults only (no children) or 2 Adults and 2 Children only.
Other than the property’s balcony, there is no dedicated outside space. Appledore has Anchor Park, but at the end of the street, the South West Coast Path begins, with miles of outdoor walks.
