This substantial detached house is ideal for a large group to get together and enjoy a Suffolk seaside holiday. It is set in a desirable location in the charming town of Southwold. Its location just a few hundred metres from the coast means that guests can enjoy car-free days at the beach and town. Southwold is a traditional seaside town with a long sandy beach backed by beach huts, an attractive pier complete with retro amusements and a handsome listed lighthouse. There are also promenades for waterfront strolls and plenty of green spaces. The pretty streets of the town are lined with interesting shops and cafes and there is a great range of pubs and restaurants too. In the summer months, visitors can catch the foot passenger ferry to the neighbouring village of Walberswick, a quaint little place that’s ideal for a relaxed day trip. The whole area is wonderful for walking and sightseeing with several nature reserves within easy reach and many walking trails to follow.
The house is set back off of the road with large gardens and a driveway. Guests enter via a covered porch into a spacious hallway. The whole house feels bright and airy with lots of space for a large group to relax, socialise and unwind. The cosy sitting room has plush sofas arranged around a large bay window and an ornamental fireplace. Next door is a playroom packed with toys, games and beanbags, ideal for the kids to escape to. The ample dining room is the heart of the house with a long wooden table set up in the centre where the whole group can gather for meals. Next to the table, French doors open onto a wooden deck, so on warm days, the doors can be left open to let the sea breeze flow in. The kitchen has all you need to prepare for your holiday feasts and there is a useful adjoining breakfast room set with a table and chairs. Also on the ground floor, there is a utility room with white goods, a cloakroom with a WC and a small study for catching up on work. On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms both with en-suite shower rooms. One of these beds is at a low level and the other room has beautiful sea views. Four steps lead up to a landing, off of which there are four more bedrooms. These are a king-size room and three doubles, with three of these rooms boasting en-suite shower rooms and two of them with sea views. As well as these shower rooms, there is a Jack and Jill bathroom which can be accessed from the landing and one of the double bedrooms. The remaining double bedroom is on the second floor along with a shower room.
Outside, there is a large, fully enclosed lawn surrounded by fencing and planted with shrubs and flowering trees. Garden furniture is set up for relaxation and there’s plenty of space for games and picnics. Directly outside of the dining room is a raised wooden deck with outside easy chairs, a coffee table and views of the sea. The outside space is a wonderful feature of the home and offers even more social space for your group to relax and spend time together.
