Choose this colourful bungalow on a quiet cul de sac next to the owner’s house as a tranquil yet quirky base for a seaside trip to Winchelsea Beach. You’ll reach the shingle beach in half a mile, where you can relax with sea views and, on clear days, look out to Fairlight’s red cliffs. It’s a haven for bird-watchers. Refresh at the beach cafe or head into town to sample the pubs and fish and chips shops. Fancy a day trip? Head to picturesque Rye (4 miles), where cobbled streets are lined with medieval buildings, quirky shops and atmospheric pubs; or Hastings (9 miles), which has a picturesque Old Town and a funicular that you can ride to the top of a cliff.
Back at your home from home, leave coats in the entrance porch and admire the vibrancy of the open-plan living space, which has bright, colourful furnishings and accessories. The sitting area has plenty of seating around the flame-effect electric fire, and there’s entertainment from the Smart TV, DVD and DAB digital radio. The dining table and coloured chairs are topped with feature lighting, while the contemporary kitchen sits behind the sofas and feels somewhat separated. Large windows keep things light. Pass through the hallway, where there is a washing machine in a cupboard, to find the king-size and the twin bedrooms (beds can be converted into one king-size bed if requested on booking). The latter boasts patio doors leading to the conservatory, a relaxing space overlooking the garden with wicker seating and a coffee table. The bathroom has pleasant tiling, underfloor heating and a drench shower head over the bath, as well as a handheld shower.
Take time out in the rear garden, accessed via the conservatory. This fully enclosed space has lawned and patio areas boasting dining furniture, a parasol and a charcoal BBQ. There’s a handy shed where you are welcome to store bicycles.
