An enticing former barn nestled in idyllic Suffolk countryside, this enchanting abode makes a wonderful romantic retreat for couples. Sleeping two guests, the one-bedroom barn is situated near Peasenhall, 5 miles from the market town of Saxmundham with its shops and eateries. It is also 12.5 miles from the coastal hub of Southwold, where you can peruse a splendid array of independent shops and boutiques and choose between a superb selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants. Spend time on the sandy beach here too; walk along the pier and head down to the quay to go crabbing. Quieter Dunwich, 8.5 miles away, also has a lovely sandy beach where you can paddle and swim.
Enter the delightful barn, with its weatherboard exterior, to find comfortable accommodation to relax in after busy days out. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has a wood burner to fire up on chilly days, a bookcase for you to help yourself from and a TV for watching films together on cosy nights in. There is a pull-down bed in here and patio doors that can be opened up on to the garden on fine days. The kitchen area is spacious, well-equipped and conveniently close to the dining area for serving up homecooked meals. The king size bedroom, with en-suite shower room, is up on the first floor.
The garden is fully fenced and features seating areas for taking in the picturesque views. There is a shepherd’s hut for relaxing in and a shed where you can store bikes. There is also an outside tap for rinsing off a dog after muddy walks, and a well-stocked fishing lake on the site.
