Nestled in a tranquil spot at the outer edge of Swimbridge, this two-storey stone cottage offers an idyllic country base for a couple or small family. The picturesque village has a handful of amenities, with the market town of Barnstaple less than 5 miles away. The region is a haven for walkers and wildlife lovers, sitting around 10 miles south of Exmoor National Park. Here, you’ll find a patchwork of wild landscapes, incredible wildlife including Exmoor ponies and red deer, and quirky villages with cafes and tearooms serving a selection of local produce and cream teas. Visit at night to stargaze in Europe’s first dark skies reserve. If you fancy a day at the seaside, head to the sandy beach at Croyde (16 miles), or the popular resort of Ilfracombe (17 miles).
Located at the end of the High Street, this semi-detached stone cottage offers an abundance of character and a charming cottage ambiance. The ground floor has a kitchen/diner with a beamed ceiling and a lovely traditional fireplace (now purely ornamental). There’s also a light and spacious double bedroom and a family bathroom. Upstairs, the large living room has an arched, beamed ceiling, and a feature wall with fireplace and coal effect electric fire. A single bedroom with a sloping ceiling completes the upstairs.
Outside, there’s an enclosed lawn garden overlooking a pretty stream and open countryside. A patio and outdoor dining area makes a lovely spot for a meal or drink surrounded by nature.
