Just a peaceful walk or short drive away from the picturesque Torquay harbourside, as well as the charm and character of Wellswood, this fantastic holiday home comfortably accommodates ten guests over a total of five bedrooms. The property is around a mile away from the metropolitan buzz of Torquay’s town centre, complete with a beautiful marina, subtropical gardens with swaying palm trees, elegant Georgian terraces, plus a myriad of bars and restaurants.
The property itself is an early Victorian building, built around 1840, that has been lovingly restored. Downstairs, there is a large, double-aspect living room with a wood burner. The dining room has a large table to comfortably sit all guests, but it also turns into a snooker table for those that love a game. The kitchen is well-equipped to cater for meals around that table, but the conservatory also has a large table for mealtimes too. There is one bedroom downstairs with an en-suite shower room and WC. This bedroom is a twin, but it also has a double sofa bed. Upstairs, the four bedrooms are all spacious too. The master has a king-size bed, TV/DVD, and en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath and corner walk-in shower cubicle and WC. The next biggest room has a king-size bed, dressing table and a couple of armchairs, plus an en-suite bathroom. One of the last bedrooms has a double bed and an en-suite with a double walk-in shower cubicle and WC. Finally, bedroom five has twin beds and an en-suite with a free-standing roll-top bath with a shower. All bedrooms have TVs. The lower ground-floor cellar room has an Xbox and three gaming chairs for enthusiasts.
Outside, the outdoor terrace is peaceful and tranquil and the perfect spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or relax with a glass of wine as the sun goes down. It’s great for outdoor entertaining thanks to an extensive seasonal BBQ area with worktops, sink and double BBQ grill. To the side, there is a wood-fired pizza oven. On sunny dry days Guests can enjoy meals sitting around the large table to sit up ten while there are several sun loungers too to relax outdoors. Finally, the hot tub that seats 9 (available from Easter till 1st October) is a fantastic addition and very popular with guests – young and old.
