Self-catering holiday cottages in Alvie

Situated on the south-eastern banks of a loch with the same name, Alvie is a hamlet in the Badenoch and Strathspey area of the Scottish Highlands. Alvie lies in a beautiful part of the country and its views over the loch are stunning.

Alvie is within the Cairngorms National Park, and as such offers an expanse of beautiful landscapes to explore on foot, by bike, or through many other exhilarating activities, including winter sports. Just 5 miles from Alvie is the well-known hub of snowsports and outdoor activities, Aviemore, where you’ll find a plethora of cafés, restaurants and attractions, including a brewery.

The Cairngorm Reindeer Centre is a unique place to visit, with a herd of free-range reindeer with guided trips to see them and learn more about them. The Strathspey Steam Railway offers another exciting day out, chugging through heather-clad moors and woodland with astonishing views from the carriages. The River Spey which runs close to Alvie is famous for its salmon and sea trout fishing. The season runs from February to September and is fly fishing only – its namesake cast, the Speycast, is one of the most popular in salmon fishing worldwide.

A stay in one of our Alvie cottages will position you perfectly for enjoying the activities and attractions in the Cairngorms National Park. Amongst our holiday cottages in Alvie you’ll find dog-friendly cottages, as well as cosy romantic boltholes and larger houses for action-packed group getaways.
