Self-catering holiday cottages in Anstruther

Set in the East Neuk of Fife, Anstruther is a picturesque fishing village, and a popular spot to enjoy the views and wildlife off the coast and around the Isle of May which lies 5 miles out to sea. Take a pleasure cruise for your best chance to see seals, porpoises and seabirds which all frequent the island. Boat trips run from May to September, taking you to explore the island where you can watch the nesting seabirds from the clifftop paths.

Back at your base in Anstruther, sample a bit of the local produce from one of the fish and chip shops – the Anstruther Fish Bar has won many awards. Wash it down with a pint or beverage of your choice in the Dreel Tavern just outside of town.

There are several attractions in the vicinity, from the secret nuclear bunker which has become a major tourist attraction, to the intriguing Caves of Caiplie, site of early Christian Worship. Don’t miss paying a visit to the adjoining harbour town of Cellardyke. The attractive harbour exudes historic character, and the jumble of red-roofed stone and whitewashed houses make it a lovely spot for a stroll.

A little further afield, take the chance to play a round of golf in St Andrews (9.4 miles) just around the peninsula or visit any of the nearby villages such as Pittenweem (1.5 miles) or Crail (4.2 miles).

Retiring to the haven of one of our holiday cottages in Anstruther, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere and everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. Whether you’re looking for a cosy cottage with a wood burner to warm the cockles on a winter break, or a family home for adventures with the children, you’ll find your perfect home-away-from-home among our Anstruther cottages.
