Self-catering holiday cottages in Ardnamurchan

Ruggedly romantic – an alluring wilderness, the Ardnamurchan Peninsula offers a holiday destination like no other. With mile upon mile of unspoilt scenery, it encompasses forests and moorland, lochs and beaches. Reached via a twisting single-track road from Salen on Loch Sunart, it’s not on the main tourist trail, but rewards your sense of adventure with magnificent landscapes and wonderful wildlife.

On the Ardnamurchan Peninsula is found Britain’s most westerly point, Corrachadh Mòr with its famous lighthouse where the views across to the islands are absolutely stunning. On the approach to the peninsula you will pass through ancient woodlands and enjoy beautiful views of the loch before climbing up around the mountain of Ben Hiant and passing through open moorland. Magnificent Sanna Bay cannot be missed – the beach itself is at the heart of an ancient volcanic crater and is backed by steep dunes. The white sand beach is lapped by crystal clear water and offers beautiful views of Ardnamurchan Point and the Small Isles – a photographer’s paradise!

The main village of Kilchoan offers amenities which include a village shop, cafe and a community centre which holds regular events. The ferry to Tobermory (which parents may know as the fictional Balamory of children’s TV fame), on the Isle of Mull runs from Kilchoan. The northern coast of Ardnamuchan is a designated National Scenic Area and won’t disappoint with its picturesque rocky outcrops and alluring sandy beaches.

Stay in one of our Ardnamurchan cottages for the perfect West Highland holiday. With stunning scenery all around, our holiday cottages in Ardnamurchan are well situated for exploring the peninsula.
