The small, rural Devon village of Ashwater lies close to the Cornish border and so offers views of Dartmoor to the east and Bodmin Moor to the west.

The Village Inn, located on the green at the heart of the village, offers a good range of food served alongside well-kept ales in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. On the other side of the green, the village shop which offers a wide selection of groceries and Post Office services.
