Self-catering holiday cottages in Auldearn

The village of Auldearn sits 18.5 miles from Inverness, a stone’s throw from the Moray Firth and the thriving seaside town of Nairn (2.5 miles). The village, with its primary school and Post Office, is a quieter alternative to its neighbouring resort town, while still offering easy access to the beaches, scenery and golf courses in the area.

A wonderful destination for a family holiday, there is an abundance of activities to enjoy locally. Walking, cycling, golf and wildlife watching are among some of the favourite pastimes here, as well as spending time on Nairn’s three beautiful beaches. Known as Scotland’s playground, the area enjoys some of the sunniest and driest weather in Scotland, a statistic which will be popular among golfers who visit to partake in a round on one of the two Championship golf courses, with another two at Castle Stuart (14 miles) and Royal Dornoch (60 miles) within driving distance.

The Moray Coastal Trail and the Dava Way are interesting walking routes for taking in the local scenery, and a selection of circular walks to suit all abilities can be enjoyed nearby. Culbin Forest has a number of trails and the opportunity to spot all manner of Scottish wildlife.

The village of Auldearn itself is centred around a small garden called The Rose Gardens, and one of its most recognisable buildings is The Doocot on the top of castle hill, built to house pigeons and now cared for by the National Trust. Our Auldearn cottages leave you perfectly positioned to make the most of your holiday on the coast of the Moray Firth. Choose from holiday cottages in Auldearn with wood burners for a cosy winter retreat, or opt for one of our family houses with games and play facilities to keep everyone entertained. Whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it among our self-catering accommodation in Auldearn.
