Self-catering holiday cottages in Bonar Bridge

Enjoy a holiday in Bonar Bridge, Scotland we have some enticing self-catering accommodation in and around the village, so visit our collection to find your perfect place. Stay in tranquil Bonar Bridge and discover its history of prominent battles and the local excavation of jewellery dating back to prehistoric times. View the stunning bridge, one of Thomas Telford’s engineering works which changed the village’s name from just Bonar. Bonar Bridge’s quaint cottages will provide a cosy base from which you can explore both the village and its surrounding areas. Whether you venture far or enjoy a peaceful stroll along the banks of the Kyle of Sutherland, there’s some exceptional scenery to drink in. Nearby you will find plenty of mountain bike and walking trails as well as other outdoor activities such as Bonar Bridge Ardgay Golf Club. The bridge was built in 1812 turning the town’s fortunes around as it became an important way station on the road between Caithness and Inverness. The original bridge was destroyed in a flood in 1892 and replaced the following year. The current bridge was built in 1973. However, Bonar Bridge has returned to its sleepy state when a new bridge, the Dornoch Firth Bridge, was built 20 miles away which in turn diverted the main road network away. Nearby Ardgay is connected the national railway network, its station is on the Inverness to Thurso line, so day trips without the car could be added to an already packed holiday agenda.

For the best Bonar Bridge holidays we have lots of self-catering holiday lets in and around the town. Book a holiday at one of our cottages to rent and enjoy a fun Bonar Bridge holiday, we have enticing accommodation to suit all your needs.
