In the heart of the beautiful Peak District in the rolling Derbyshire Dales, you'll find Bonsall. This charming former lead-mining village which is set in a deep dale at the foot of Masson Hill, is made up of attractive limestone houses and quaint cottages, some clinging to the sides of the dale. A market square boasts an impressive and iconic 17th-century cross, with a slender circular shaft topped by a ball, set on top of 13 circular stone steps. The ancient King’s Head is another notable building in the Market Place, along with the traditional pub, Barley Mow, where you can relax with a hearty meal after working up an appetite exploring the surrounding countryside.

Matlock Bath is just 3 miles away from our self-catering accommodation in Bonsall where you can hop on board a cable car leading to the Heights of Abraham, a 60-acre hilltop country park, whilst water sports enthusiasts are well-served by Carsington Water, which is just 7 miles away.
