Discover our collection of beautiful self-catering holiday cottages in Buckler’s Hard in the New Forest. Buckler’s Hard is a former shipbuilders’ village where many war vessels were built to defend the realm during the Battle of Trafalgar. The village has remained unspoiled and lies within the grounds of Buckler’s Hard Maritime Museum. Walk along the wide traffic-free avenue of spectacular Georgian terrace houses down to the banks of the River Beaulieu. You can see large scale models of how the village would have looked at its peak in the 19th century inside the visitor centre and museum. Buckler’s Hard is also home to a pub, a café and several art pods where the artists in residence work on their various projects. Also, see Sir Francis Chichester’s famous world encircling yacht, the Gypsy Moth IV moored up at Buckler’s Hard’s jetty.
During your stay, bask in the hamlet's maritime history at the Maritime Museum and Shipwright's Cottage, and pay a visit to nearby Beaulieu for the National Motor Museum and a range of other attractions that include Calshot Spit, Lepe Country Park, Hengistbury Head and Lymington. You can even visit the Isle of Wight for a day trip from the latter. You can reach Beaulieu via a 1-mile river walk from Buckler’s Hard too, a perfect way to while away a day in the local area. We have holiday accommodation in and around Buckler’s Hard for everybody. Browse our collection of romantic cottages, former shipwright’s houses, converted farmhouses and luxury cottages to rent to feel inspired.
