Holidays in Caerhun

Caerhun is a village on the west bank of the River Conwy, in Conwy County Borough in northern Wales. Caerhun lies just outside the eastern edge of the Snowdonia National Park, and therefore provides easy access for an exploration of the Park’s glorious scenery and remarkable views.

An interesting local feature at Caerhun is the excavated remains of the old Roman fort of Canovium. A square fort built in timber at an important river crossing by the Roman army around AD 75, the north-east quarter of the site is now occupied by the 14th-century parish church of St Mary.
