If you’re visiting as a family, head straight to the Landmark Forest Adventure Park where children will have a fantastic time riding the wild water coaster, meeting giants in the Dinosaur Kingdom, and walking through the tropical hothouse. There are a couple of delightful restaurants, a golf course so you can hit the green on your holiday, and a train station making it easy to explore the region by rail. In the heart of the village is the 18th-century packhorse bridge which crosses over the River Dulnain. Head out on a ramble into the surrounding picturesque scenery, or head out on horseback with The Carrbridge Pony Trekking Centre. The magnificent Highland estate of Rothiemurchus is 9 miles south and a beautiful destination to explore on a self-guided walk or you can go quad trekking, try archery or another of their other outdoor activities. The Cairngorm Reindeer Centre is always a family favourite though, especially when Christmas gets near, with a paddock and exhibition centre and the opportunity for a guided walk to meet these magnificent animals.
