While the village enjoys a bucolic setting with a laid-back pace of life, it’s not far from the cathedral city of Gloucester. The UK’s most inland port, Gloucester has an abundance of attractions - from the cathedral which some will recognise as Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter films, to the historic Gloucester Docks with their Victorian warehouses.

The Severn Way is a scenic riverside route which wends its way along the entire Severn Valley. Elmore falls on this route, and as such is a good base for walking this particular section, with some circular trails taking in the surrounding countryside.
