Situated in a tranquil valley in the west of the Lake District National Park, Eskdale holiday cottages are perfect for eager walkers, climbers, cyclists and nature lovers. We have a wide range of Eskdale self-catering properties including traditional Lakeland cottages, stylish lodges, cosy barn conversions and impressive country farmhouses. Our fantastic choice of Eskdale accommodation provides the perfect base for families in search of an idyllic getaway, friends enjoying a reunion and couples in search of a romantic retreat.
Just to the south of Wast Water and Scafell Pike, this beautiful valley has plenty to see, with Eskdale cottages ideally located for visitors wanting to head west towards the stunning Cumbrian coast, or east into the beautiful woodlands of the Lake District itself.
We have some lovely places to stay in Eskdale, providing the ideal spot from which to follow the valley’s glorious walks. You can take a trip through the region on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, with local attractions including Eskdale Mill, the Stanley Ghyll Force waterfall and the site of the Hard Knott Roman Fort near the end of Hardknott Pass.
Heading a little further east, you can explore the great lake of Windermere, with the beautiful Coniston Water a little to the south. Walkers and climbers can attempt the peaks of Scafell Pike, Great Gable, Pillar or The Old Man of Coniston. To the west is the majestic coast of Cumbria, with the pretty Victorian resort of Seascale, perfect for a delightful day by the sea.
