There are also plenty of restaurants in the area serving delicious local fare if you fancy a night off from cooking in your self-catering accommodation. The town is famed for the ‘wool church’ of St Mary’s with its pinnacle tower and 28 exquisite stained-glass windows depicting biblical scenes, ranked among the finest in England.
