Self-catering holiday cottages in Falkland

At the foot of the Lomond Hills in Fife on the eastern side of Scotland is the town of Falkland, a popular spot for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. A myriad of footpaths in the Lomond Hills prove a regular draw for walkers. There is more to the area than just great hiking though, on windy days paragliding can be undertaken from East Lomond and the wooded north slope is also a great venue for mountain bikers. The first conservation village in Scotland, Falkland is brimming with a rich history and has retained an olde-worlde charm amongst its quaint cobbled streets, clusters of colourful shops and tearooms, a Victorian Gothic Bruce Fountain, and even a turret for good measure.

Take a wander from our Falkland cottages and you’ll soon see why the village was featured in the popular Outlander TV series. It’s one of the prettiest and most charming places in Fife, and the jewel in its crown is Falkland Palace, one of Mary Queen of Scots' favourite places to visit and one of the finest examples of French Renaissance architecture in the UK – it’s even home to the world's oldest real tennis court! Ensure a peaceful and entertaining holiday in Scotland with a stay in our self-catering accommodation in Falkland.
