Self-catering holiday cottages in Glenelg

Glenelg is slightly off the beaten track, and many bypass it when travelling to Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle of Skye. The approach to this quiet coastal village is spectacular, scaling the heights of the Mam Ratagan Pass. Wrapping itself around Glenelg Bay, Loch Duich and Loch Hourn proudly sit on either side of Glenelg. The village is tranquil and charming, looking across the water towards the mountains of eastern Skye. Stop by the Bernera Barracks during your time here and discover a little local history. Pull on your walking boots for long rambles by the water’s edge or through the rural countryside taking in scenic Scottish scenery as you go. A café, shop and welcoming pub offer all the amenities guests will need during their trip, as well as a pretty shingle beach. The Glenelg Brochs are also located close by, a cluster of well-preserved Iron Age circular stone towers and possibly the best examples you will find in mainland Scotland. Guests can also travel to the Isle of Skye directly from our Glenelg cottages thanks to the Glenelg Ferry, across the Kyle Rhea, with the chance to spot seals and eagles.

Stay in a Glenelg cottage in Scotland and unwind in a remarkable and remote location surrounded by far-reaching landscape bursting with beautiful scenery. We have big cottages for groups, family-friendly places to stay, and holiday lets for couples on a romantic break to the Scottish Highlands. Through the region, we have even more magical lodges and cosy cottages where you could lay your head while away, check out all our Scotland cottages.
