Greshornish is a remote and unspoilt area on a peninsula poking out into a loch of the same name, in the north-west of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Much of this area is given over to the wild after a former settlement, known as Lon Na Stapaig after another nearby loch, was abandoned many decades ago. The primary point of interest in the area is Greshornish House, a historic country house nestled among the trees in 10 acres of gardens and grounds. With attractions such as Portree, the Cuillin Mountains and even the west coast of the mainland easily accessible, our Greshornish cottages make a great Isle of Skye base.
A short drive away from our holiday cottages in Greshornish is the village of Dunvegan with its famous castle, and where a good selection of pubs, shops and restaurants can be found. More amenities can be found in Portree, the island’s only town, including a picturesque harbour where you’ll find a variety of boat trips, perfect for those who want to get up close to the local bird and sea-life. If you’re looking for the ultimate away-from-it-all location far from the stresses of the wider world, our self-catering accommodation in Greshornish is the perfect option.
