Home to the annual Border Games, Innerleithen is a popular town in the Scottish Borders, set between Peebles and Galashiels. Steeped in history, the remains of an Iron Age hillfort can be spotted atop the town’s Caerlee Hill, and the oldest inhabited house in Scotland, Traquair House, is also located nearby. For thrill-seekers staying in our Innerleithen cottages, 7stanes Innerleithen is a challenging downhill mountain biking track with a ride you’ll never forget. Golfers can tee off at the town’s 9-hole course, the nearby stretch of the River Tweed is one of the best spots for canoeing and fishing, and the surrounding area is excellent for walking, with the Southern Upland Way running close by.
Innerleithen developed as a mill town in the 18th century and it was also a spa centre at one time.
