Self-catering holiday cottages in Keith

A charming town, bursting with character in the north-eastern Scottish county of Moray, Keith is an inspiring destination for a holiday.

The town is a significant stop on the Speyside Whisky Trail, which celebrates the important sites of the Moray Speyside region, otherwise known as Malt Whisky Country. Keith’s offering is Strathisla Distillery which has been operating since 1786, making it the oldest continually operating distillery on the whole trail. As a visitor, you will become acquainted with the way whisky is distilled, the various flavours and skills needed to blend them. You can then put your new-found skills to good use by attempting to blend your own in the Blending Room.

Keith is a great spot for discovering the other distilleries on the whisky trail too, and besides Strathisla, it is also home to three other distilleries. Keith’s other claim to fame is its Kilt and Textile Centre, which is the only place in the world where kiltmaking and creative embroidery are taught together. Other attractions include the Keith and Dufftown Railway, Tarnash Falls and Auld Brig.

Besides its intrinsically Scottish attractions, Keith also offers a range of independent shops, including butchers, bakers and a deli, perfect for picking up ingredients for a hearty meal back at your holiday cottage. If you don’t feel like cooking, choose from the town’s numerous eateries, catering for all tastes from world food to traditional fayre.
