Holiday cottages and self-catering accommodation in the Kentmere Valley
Lying slightly to the east of Lake Windermere, the Kentmere Valley is one of the more remote and peaceful spots in the Lake District National Park, surrounded by a horseshoe of high fells.
The valley stretches for three miles, offering some lovely walks both through the valley and up into the surrounding hills, including Ill Bell, which offers panoramic views over the valley and Lake Windermere from the summit.
Kentmere village, a small settlement, can be found in the heart of the valley, and there is also a reservoir of the same name in the north of the valley. It can only be reached by road from Staveley, a larger village found to the south. Also a short drive away are Windermere, Troutbeck, and Kendal, where you will find the nearest places to shop and eat.
