With its rows of treacle-toned cottages with thatched roofs and pastel-painted doors, Kingham is a picture-perfect destination for a holiday in the Cotswolds. This charming little village is nestled within the Evenlode Valley in Oxfordshire, a great spot for exploring the spectacular landscapes of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our Kingham cottages offer a charming slice of country life – simply don your wellies or walking boots and set off on an adventure through the rolling hills. When you’ve worked up an appetite, there are two exceptional gastropubs in the village where you can sink into an armchair by a blazing log fire and tuck into something hearty and delicious. The Kingham Plough and The Wild Rabbit are so highly regarded that the village has become somewhat a place of foodie pilgrimage – and there’s no need to worry about driving if you’re staying in one of our holiday cottages in Kingham.
Just down the road, you’ll find the Daylesford Organic farm shop. Known as the ‘Harvey Nichols of the Cotswolds’, this is no ordinary farm shop. Here you can sample organic treats in the café, pick up some delicious ingredients to take back to your Kingham self-catering accommodation, or make the most of its award-winning cookery school and spa – you might even spot a celebrity or two! Plus, if you time your visit to the village just right, you can enjoy the gastronomic delights and incredible music at the annual Big Feastival at Blur bassist Alex James’ local farm nearby. More golden Cotswolds villages can also be found within 10 miles, including Chipping Norton, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford.
