Situated in one of the most naturally beautiful parts of the country, the North Cornwall village of Lanivet is surrounded by woodland, streams and the type of countryside seemingly tailor-made for rambling. For fans of trivia, Lanivet is also the geographic centre of Cornwall. The wild and beautiful Bodmin Moor is just a short drive away from our holiday cottages in Lanivet where you can climb up Rough Tor or Brown Willy (the highest point in Cornwall) to soak up the views. And a host of way-marked walking and cycle routes lie on the doorstep, including the Saints Way linking Padstow and Fowey, the Wilderness Trail on Breney Common Nature Reserve, and the Goss Moor Nature Trail.
The Camel Trail is also nearby, or you could head to the coast to stroll along the South West Coast Path. The local pub provides both a haven for the weary walker and a centre for community activity. It is run by the St Austell Brewery and offers fine ales and hearty meals all year round. For sightseeing near our Lanivet cottages, take your pick from some of Cornwall’s most popular attractions such as the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway.
